CTE courses help prepare students to be college- and career-ready by providing core academic skills, employability skills and technical, job-specific skills. According to the US Department of Education, the average high school graduation rate for students concentrating in CTE programs is 93 percent and more than 75 percent of CTE participants pursue post-secondary education shortly after high school. Completion of some CTE courses may earn college credit or career certification.
