Average number of days per week that students have PE
This display shows the average number of days of Physical Education per week per student. The physical education and training courses offered in grades 5 through 10 may include health education. District and state averages are shown for comparison.
Note: A zero indicates that the school district did not supply data for this measure.
For students of all ages, physical education provides opportunities to learn motor skills, develop fitness, build team skills, strengthen problem solving abilities, and learn about healthy lifestyles. A healthy, physically active student is more likely to be alert and successful in academic endeavors. Many health organizations recommend that children and adolescents participate in at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous physical activity every day in order to help prevent childhood obesity, diabetes, and heart disease.
