Principal Turnover is the number of different principals at the same school in the last 6 years. If the number is 0, no current data was provided.

Stable leadership motivates teachers and creates a positive environment for students; however, a change in leadership can also be a part of a school or district’s overall improvement plan (e.g. strong principals may be moved to lower performing schools, or weak principals may be removed from school leadership in general). Therefore, interested parties should look more deeply into the turnover rate to determine the effectiveness of school leadership.
