Teacher Education – the number of teachers who hold bachelors’ degrees and masters’ degrees or higher divided by the total number of teachers in an educational entity multiplied by 100.

Teachers are among the very most important factors in the success of students. This data includes educators who have earned professional licenses and teach in classrooms - regular classroom teachers, special education teachers, and resource teachers (specialists in subject areas or special education who work in multiple classrooms). Research has shown clearly that students learn better with teachers who know their subject areas well, hold regular professional licenses, and have more experience. A variety of circumstances can result in teachers being assigned to classrooms with Emergency or Provisional licenses or who are early in their teaching careers.
